August 9, 2011: The Sight and Sound of Online Testing Burnsville, Minn. – TesTrac.com, Ltd, a leader in online testing, is pleased to announce that it has re-vamped its state-of-the-art online test delivery system to support video and audio. This means that test questions, once composed of static text and images, can now incorporate video and audio clips, enriching the test-taking experience. The new capabilities were made possible because of technology developments, widespread broadband Internet access and stabilization of how Internet browsers handle video. “Our clients need us to deliver their tests to any computer, in any location, which means we have to serve a lowest common denominator in terms of technology and internet access,” says Doug Odell, president of TesTrac.com. “But our test takers now have much more predictable operating systems, stable browsers, and high-speed internet, so audio and video are much more feasible.”
The
new audio and video components mean that tests can now include video or
audio scenarios that ask test-takers to interpret what they've seen and
heard. “Just as an example,” says Odell, “imagine you had an HR test of
some kind. You could show a video of an interview and then you could test
for comprehension and interpretation by asking questions about the
interviewer, the interviewee or both. It gives new depth and dimension to
test questions.”
